Surfactants

Surfactants are chemical compounds that decrease the surface tension or interfacial tension between two liquids, a liquid and a gas, or a liquid and a solid. Surfactants play an important role as cleaning, wetting, dispersing, emulsifying, foaming and anti-foaming agents in many practical applications and products.

Based on the nature of ionic character and biodegradability, the most widely used surfactant is the Linear Alkyl Benzene Sulphonic acid (LABSA), which is essentially an anionic surfactant. We are one of the largest manufacturers of LABSA.

Depending on the acidity and purity LABSA can be classified as LABSA 90% and LABSA 96%. LABSA 90% finds its use mostly in producing detergent powders and LABSA 96% has its use in other products containing anionic surfactants.
