About Us

Our Founder

“As they say, it doesn’t make sense to live a dream without taking a step to achieve it.”

Mr. Shyam Sundar Ji Fogla went through a dream and had decided to live the dream, would never give up. That was early 60s. In 1968, Mr. Shyam Sundar Ji Fogla founded a small unit of JUMAC with just eight people and had started production of LABSA 90% with just 1 MT per month. Within next couple of decades, production of LABSA had been increased up to thirty times according to market requirement and in 90s LABSA had been started to export in international market.

Chairman's Message

The Great vision of creating a manufacturing empire was brought to reality by my father, Founder Mr. Shyam Sundar Fogla in year 1968.

Our first manufacturing unit, "Jumac" came into existence in 1968, manufacturing HDPE and Aluminium silver cans and carded cans for spinning mills and yarn industry and accessories for jute machinery/industry. This factory was created with proper planning and plenty of room for planned expansions in future.

Mr. Sandeep Fogla

On my return from the USA post graduation, my father cajoled us to diversify and create fresh goals, exploring new sectors. I acquired a small primitive Labsa factory producing 1 ton per day. We expanded from this humble starting point, today Sai Sulphonates boasts of state of art technology producing 10000 tons per month. We are the single largest supplier and exporter to top MNC’s like Unilever, Proctor Gamble and Henkel. As we grew we realized that setting up a self-sustaining fully backward & forward integrated unit was a necessity ensuring minimal external dependence. Hence we embarked on this venture by setting up a fertilizer plant to consume by-product generated by the Labsa plant and a 300tpd Sulphuric acid plant. This plant runs on waste heat regeneration producing 3 MW for our captive consumption. This endeavour has made us a 100% environmental friendly green unit. This step is dear to my heart as it signifies a harmonious communion between industrial prosperity and environmental recovery, a responsibility we consider unavoidable.

Proper decentralization and delegation, with help of well-qualified and carefully selected man power, has simply added to our group’s vertical growth in the last two decades. We are mindful of our diversification strategies ensuring easy transfer of technology and business linkages. Today the increasing population with their demand of quality / hygiene excites me to no end. I can see an in-exhaustive "future" requirement for surfactants and detergents. We are ourselves being placed in a shock-proof FMCG industry.

Now with my elder daughter Aastha, after graduating from U.C Berkeley is training under me. It makes me proud to see the third generation slowly and surely taking reins of the business driving it to newer horizons with fresh ideas. She has furthered my integration endeavour by setting up a German Technology HDPE drums plant providing solutions for packing Labsa thus eliminating one more variant in the supply chain. Driven by our motto of "Buyer is King" we have successfully expanded our customer base in over 60 countries with either happy or very happy buyers. Our equal enthusiasm and dedication catering to small and big clients is alike. We do look into fine print of the buyers “needs” and ensure delivery of non-stop consistent quality with each order.
